Recuerda: la pasiva exige be + V3; el passive reporting usa that + clause o to + infinitive; y el reported speech cambia tiempos y pronombres cuando el verbo introductor está en pasado.

Lección 1 — Gramática: Passive Voice

Completa o transforma la frase.

Lección 3 — Reading: A human-rights report

The commission reported that three detainees had been denied legal advice. It is believed that the procedure was changed after an independent review. The minister said that new safeguards would be introduced, while the victims' lawyer insisted that the recommendations be implemented without delay. The report concluded that complaints must be investigated impartially and that witnesses should be protected from retaliation.

Escucha o lee este guion y completa.

The spokesperson explained that the hearing had been postponed because new evidence was being examined. She added that the defendant would be informed immediately and that the witness could be interviewed again. The judge warned reporters not to publish the witness's name.

Writing

Escribe un email formal de 120–140 palabras para informar a un director de que una auditoría legal ha terminado. Incluye: dos pasivas, un ejemplo de passive reporting y una recomendación indirecta.

The audit has been completed and all case files have been reviewed. It is believed that the new filing procedure has reduced delays. The auditors reported that two minor inconsistencies had been identified; they will be corrected this week. I recommend that the team be reminded to record every interview immediately. The final report will be circulated once the corrections have been checked. Please let me know if any further evidence is required.

Witnesses must be protected from retaliation. Their identities should be kept confidential, and they are believed to be safer when interviews are recorded. The lawyer said that every complaint should be investigated promptly.
