Bloque 1 — Backshift y afirmaciones (B1-B2)
El backshift es el cambio de tiempo verbal al pasar de estilo directo a indirecto.
Ejercicio 1: Transforma al estilo indirecto
- "I work in Madrid," she said.
- "We are studying for the exam," they said.
- "I will call you tomorrow," he said.
- "I can speak three languages," she said.
- "I have finished the report," he said.
Soluciones:
- She said (that) she worked in Madrid.
- They said (that) they were studying for the exam.
- He said (that) he would call me the next day.
- She said (that) she could speak three languages.
- He said (that) he had finished the report.
Ejercicio 2: Cambia pronombres y expresiones de tiempo
- "I saw her yesterday," he said.
- "We will travel here next week," they said.
- "My car is parked outside," she said.
- "I bought this phone last month," he said.
Soluciones:
- He said (that) he had seen her the day before.
- They said (that) they would travel there the following week.
- She said (that) her car was parked outside.
- He said (that) he had bought that phone the month before.
Ejercicio 3: Said vs Told
Completa con said o told (y el complemento si hace falta):
- She _______ me that she was tired.
- He _______ that he didn't like the film.
- They _______ us to wait outside.
- The teacher _______ the students that the test was on Friday.
- She _______ that she would arrive late.

Nota: Told siempre lleva objeto (told me / told them). Said no lleva objeto directo sin to: He said to me ✓, pero He said me ✗.
Bloque 2 — Preguntas en estilo indirecto (B1-B2)
Ejercicio 4: Yes/No questions → if/whether
- "Do you like coffee?" she asked me.
- "Are they coming to the party?" he asked.
- "Have you finished your homework?" the teacher asked.
- "Will you help me?" she asked him.
Soluciones:
- She asked me if/whether I liked coffee.
- He asked if/whether they were coming to the party.
- The teacher asked if/whether I had finished my homework.
- She asked him if/whether he would help her.
Ejercicio 5: Wh- questions
- "Where do you live?" he asked.
- "What time does the train leave?" she asked.
- "Why did you leave early?" they asked me.
- "How long have you been waiting?" he asked.
Soluciones:
- He asked where I lived.
- She asked what time the train left.
- They asked me why I had left early.
- He asked how long I had been waiting.
Bloque 3 — Órdenes y peticiones (B1-B2)
Ejercicio 6: Reporta órdenes y peticiones
- "Close the door!" the manager said.
- "Don't touch that button," she warned.
- "Please help me with this," he asked.
- "Finish the report by Friday," she told him.
- "Don't be late again," the teacher said.
Soluciones:
- The manager told us/him/her to close the door.
- She warned us/him/her not to touch that button.
- He asked us/me to help him with that.
- She told him to finish the report by Friday.

Bloque 4 — Reporting verbs avanzados (C1-C2)
Ejercicio 7: Gerundio o infinitivo
Completa con la forma correcta:
- She suggested _______ (go) to the cinema.
- He denied _______ (steal) the money.
- They offered _______ (help) us with the move.
- She admitted _______ (make) a mistake.
- He promised _______ (call) me back.

Ejercicio 8: Elige el reporting verb más preciso
- "The project will be finished on time," the director said confidently. → The director _______ that the project would be finished on time.

- "Let's postpone the meeting," he said. → He _______ postponing the meeting.

Ejercicio 9: Passive reporting structures
Reescribe usando la estructura indicada:
- People believe that the CEO will resign. → The CEO _______ to resign.
- They say that he is the best candidate. → He _______ the best candidate.
- Experts think that the policy has failed. → The policy _______.
- It is believed that the treaty will be signed soon. → The treaty _______ soon.

Ejercicio 10: Key Word Transformation (estilo Cambridge)
Usa la palabra en mayúsculas sin cambiar su forma:
- "I'll definitely help you," she said. → She _______ to help me. (PROMISED)
- "Don't open the window," he said. → He _______ me not to open the window. (TOLD)
- "Where did you buy this?" she asked. → She asked where _______ that. (BOUGHT)
- "I didn't take your pen," he said. → He _______ taking my pen. (DENIED)
- "Perhaps we should leave now," she said. → She _______ leaving then. (SUGGESTED)
