Afirmativa: Sujeto + will + infinitivo Interrogativa: Will + sujeto + infinitivo + ?
| Afirmativa | Interrogativa |
|---|---|
| She will come. | Will she come? |
| They will help us. | Will they help us? |
| It will be ready. | Will it be ready? |
| You will try. | Will you try? |
No hay ninguna partícula extra. Solo inviertes.
Tipos de preguntas con will
1. Preguntas de sí/no (Yes/No questions)
Son las preguntas básicas:
- Will you be at the meeting tomorrow?
- Will it rain this weekend?
- Will they accept our offer?
- Will the package arrive today?
Respuestas cortas:
- Yes, I will. / No, I won't.
- Yes, she will. / No, she won't.
- Yes, they will. / No, they won't.
Nunca se contrae en la respuesta corta afirmativa: Yes, I'll ❌ → Yes, I will ✓
Estructura: Wh- + will + sujeto + infinitivo + ?
- When will the results be available?
- Where will you be staying?
- Who will be in charge of the project?
- How long will this take?
- Why will they close the office?
- What will you do if it goes wrong?
3. Tag questions con will/won't
- You'll be there, won't you?
- She'll help us, won't she?
- It'll work out, won't it?
-
- You won't tell anyone, will you?
- She won't be late, will she?
- It won't take long, will it?
4. Preguntas indirectas con will
- Could you tell me when the train will arrive?
- Do you know if she will attend?
- I was wondering whether he will accept.
Peticiones con "Will you...?"
Will you...? sirve para hacer peticiones directas:
- Will you open the window, please?
- Will you give me a hand with this?
- Will you be quiet?
Es directo. Para sonar más educado, se usa Would you...? o Could you...?
Ofrecimientos con "Shall I...?" (inglés británico)
En inglés británico, shall (en lugar de will) se usa con I y we para ofrecimientos:
- Shall I get you something to drink?
- Shall we start the meeting?
- Shall I call them back?
En inglés americano es más común Should I...? o Do you want me to...?
Invitaciones formales con "Will you...?"
- Will you do me the honor of...?
- Will you join us for dinner tonight?
Preguntas con will: errores frecuentes
No invertir el orden:
- ❌ You will be there tomorrow?
- ✓ Will you be there tomorrow?
Añadir "do" como auxiliar:
- ❌ Do you will come?
- ✓ Will you come?
Contraer en respuesta corta afirmativa:
- ❌ Yes, I'll.
- ✓ Yes, I will.
- Menos natural: Will you travel to Madrid next week?
- Más natural: Are you travelling to Madrid next week? (plan ya organizado)

Tipos de preguntas con will
La pregunta básica se forma con Will + sujeto + verbo base?: Will you join us? Nunca añadas to ni una terminación -s: Will she come?, no Will she comes? Para preguntar por información, coloca la palabra interrogativa delante: When will they arrive?; si who es el sujeto, no inviertas: Who will lead the meeting? En preguntas indirectas el orden vuelve a ser afirmativo: Do you know when they will arrive?, no when will they arrive.
Completa y transforma

- Corrige: Will he signs the form?
- Responde brevemente: Will you be free at six?
- Cambia a negativa: They will remember the instructions.
Soluciones: 1. Will, attend. 2. will, stay. 3. will present. 4. Do you know when the shop will open? 5. Will he sign the form? 6. Yes, I will / No, I won't. 7. Who will pay for the booking? 8. They won't remember the instructions. Acepta will not en registro formal.
Preguntar sin sonar brusco
En atención al cliente, Will you send it today? puede sonar exigente. Usa Could you tell me when you will send it? o Do you think you will be able to send it today? si quieres dejar margen. Para decisiones y predicciones, What will happen if we delay the launch? pide análisis, mientras que Will the launch be delayed? solo pide confirmación. Practica un mini diálogo: formula una pregunta directa, conviértela en indirecta y responde usando la contracción adecuada (I’ll, she’ll, won’t).

Preguntas frecuentes
Para planes ya decididos es más natural usar "are you going to...?" o el presente continuo "are you...?". "Will you come to my party?" puede sonar a invitación formal; "Are you coming to my party?" es más informal y natural.
¿Cuál es la diferencia entre "Will you...?" y "Would you...?"
"Will you...?" pide una respuesta o acción futura directa: "Will you help me?" "Would you...?" es más cortés y suaviza la petición: "Would you help me?"
"Won't you + infinitivo?" expresa sorpresa, persuasión o una invitación insistente: "Won't you stay for dinner?" "Won't you reconsider?" También se usa en tag questions negativas: "You'll be there, won't you?"
No directamente. Si quieres preguntar sobre el presente, usas "is", "do", "can", etc. Sin embargo, en frases como "Will that be all?"
